Most flavoured coffee at home means a bottle of syrup: sticky, expensive, takes up a shelf, and you’re guessing the measure every time. Colombian Brew builds the flavour into the coffee itself, so a sachet gives you the same balance every cup and there’s nothing extra to buy or store.
Flavour innovation is one of the things the brand is known for, with a range spanning vanilla, hazelnut, caramel and mocha-style products. These three are the ones we’ve brought to the UK first.
Choosing your flavour
Hazelnut. Warm and nutty, and the one most people come back for. It’s the gentlest introduction to flavoured coffee — recognisably coffee first, with the hazelnut sitting behind it rather than on top. Particularly good with milk.
Vanilla. Softer and rounder. If hazelnut and mocha feel like too much, this is the one that still tastes like a coffee you’d drink every morning. Also the most versatile over ice.
Double Choco Mocha. A double hit of chocolate, and closer to a dessert than a morning cup. This is the afternoon coffee, or the one you make instead of having a biscuit.
How to make it
One sachet per cup, hot water, stir. All three take milk well — the flavour holds rather than being flattened by it. For an iced version, mix with a little cold liquid first, then top with cold milk and ice.
Who it’s for
Anyone who orders a flavoured coffee when they’re out and can’t be bothered to recreate it at home. Offices where a plain jar of instant doesn’t get touched. Twenty sachets is around three weeks of one cup a day.
