This is the coffee the rest of the range is built around. Colombian Brew’s original instant is blended to be smooth rather than sharp — the kind of cup that takes milk well, works black, and doesn’t need anything doing to it to be drinkable.
Instant coffee has a reputation problem in the UK, and most of it is deserved. It comes from jars that sit open on a shelf for months, losing aroma every time the lid comes off, and from blends built down to a price. Ours is portioned and sealed, and it comes from a manufacturer whose portfolio runs from roasted beans through to premixes — the same sourcing behind our whole-bean Arabica sits behind this.
How to make it
Tear or spoon into a cup. Add hot water — not quite boiling is better, around 90°C, though a kettle left to stand for thirty seconds does the job. Stir. Add milk if you take it.
Start with one sachet or one heaped teaspoon per cup and adjust from there. It dissolves fully, so if you find grounds at the bottom, something has gone wrong — that isn’t this product.
Choosing your format
40 x 1g sachets. Every cup portioned before it reaches you, and every serving sealed until the moment you make it. This is the format that ends up in desk drawers, hotel rooms, hand luggage and site offices — anywhere there’s a kettle but no kitchen. It also settles the office argument about who makes it too strong, because nobody is measuring anything.
45g pouch. For people who prefer to judge their own. The pouch reseals flat and takes a fraction of the shelf space a glass jar would, which matters more than it sounds in a small kitchen or a stockroom. Roughly the equivalent of a small jar, without the jar.
